What's the Buzz About Logistics at CES 2024?

CES-2024-Guide-1291415607

Why the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show is a great way to kick off the new year.

If you search for logistics exhibitors at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, you'll get back a list of 28 companies promoting innovations like AI-powered robotics, smart safeboxes, and all-electric urban delivery vehicles.

Meanwhile, a search for "High-tech Retailing/ E-Commerce" returns 324 results — for everything from software platforms, barcode scanners, and low-light indoor solar cells to "technology-enabled made-to-measure shoes". AdobeStock_605915185

That's a lot of logistics to cover. After a one-year hiatus, our friend and colleague Casey Wakula is heading back to CES this year to see what's what. Casey is a leading retail logistics specialist and the co-founder of CG Access Group. When he gets to Las Vegas, he'll be meeting with potential customers who are aware that accurate shipments — delivered to the right store locations, with the right displays, at the right time — can make or break a successful retail relationship.

"I'm really excited about the buzz surrounding CES this year,” Casey told me. "My plan is to walk the floor and check out some of the latest and best electronics products and decide which new technologies will be most beneficial for our customers."

Logistics and Product Display: Better Together

Last year, when Casey and I decided to join forces and create the CG Retail Logistics division, our idea was to combine state-of-the-art distribution with expert advice on in-store displays and channel strategies. Our goal was to help growing companies successfully launch their new products in the world's most recognizable retail stores.

Today, we're a unique one-stop shop for innovative manufacturers seeking to build long-term partnerships with global retailers like Walmart and Target. We offer the ability to store, organize, and ship products in a way that makes them easy to access, display, and replenish quickly, and that's a win-win for product managers and their channel partners

Digital transformation will impact every industry

Retail logistics is not immune to forces of digital transformation like artificial intelligence, augmented reality, robots, cloud computing, Internet of Things, and data analytics, which are reshaping the entire global economy.

The demand for omni-channel sales is growing exponentially; everyone wants technology that achieves faster delivery times, more flexible fulfillment operations, and better overall customer experiences.

Casey is returning to CES to investigate advances in warehouse robotics, delivery drones, and even blockchain platforms that track and trace shipments — anything that will help us be more transparent and responsive to growing licensing and manufacturing businesses.

The possibilities are endless!
