Easing Aviation's Inventory and Supply Chain Bottlenecks

We're headed to the MRO Americas Show to talk about flexible contract logistics solutions for aviation parts sellers.

Aviation Repair

Addressing systemic aviation supply chain issues

The global pandemic may be old news for some industries, but not for aviation. A recent article by McKinsey & Company explores the lingering effects of COVID, saying, "... the aviation value chain still shows significant post-pandemic losses, and the industry faces a shortage of almost everything but passengers."

According to McKinsey, aviation industry profitability bottomed out in 2021 when COVID exposed significant supply chain vulnerabilities that were not as obvious when things were business as usual. Now these problems are putting a robust industry recovery in doubt.

That's one of the reasons why Cura's Wayne Trzeciak and I are going to this year's MRO Americas Show in Chicago, along with Beatriz Huerta, our West Coast Regional Manager. We're eager to hear what McKinsey's Senior Partner Mike Parkins and other analysts have to say about reducing shortages through better point-of-use storage and distribution. MRO-Americas 2024

Our primary purpose, however, is to meet with MRO service providers and maintenance experts to hear directly from them about the logistics strategies that are working for aviation parts users and suppliers, and the ones that aren't.

To arrange a meeting at the conference, you can reach us at info@curagroup.com or 800-813-7155. We'd love to talk with you about the features and services you'd require in a turnkey contract logistics solution for it to be of real value to your business. If you have a moment, let's meet up - coffee's on us!

New technologies to track inventory and mitigate risk

Several sessions at this year's conference are focused on data-driven strategies to monitor supply chain operations, and we're here for it.

Cura Group uses SnapFulfil's cloud-based Warehouse Management System (WMS) to optimize our clients' inventory and storage operations. It allows us to provide advanced logistics management services with 100% visibility into parts on hand, which means MROs can focus on their core competencies of maintenance and repair. It's flexible, scalable, and efficient. And it takes the burden and expense of maintaining dedicated warehouse facilities out of the equation.

Our newest partner, BoxLock, integrates barcode scanners, GPS trackers, and connected locking devices to track and protect critical parts on-site. Their real-time audit logs and inventory management tools allow us to see where assets are stored and who is accessing them, adding another layer of security for valuable, time-sensitive components.
